Hathaway signs with Flames

The Calgary Flames announced on Monday they signed Kennebunk native Garnet Hathaway to a two-year entry-level contract.

Hathaway is in his second season in the American Hockey League where he is currently playing for the Adirondack Flames. The 23-year-old forward has 19 goals, 17 assists for 36 points in 71 games with the A-Flames.

Hathaway, one of only two Maine-born players in the AHL this season, began his pro career with the Flames former AHL affiliate in Abbotsford, British Columbia after playing four seasons for Brown University in the ECAC where he tallied 20 goals, 38 assists for 58 points in 121 games.

Prior to going to Brown, Hathaway played prep school hockey at Phillips Andover Academy in Andover, Massachusetts,

Hathaway signed an AHL contract with Adirondack at the start of the season. His two-way NHL contract won’t kick in until next season.
