Maine adds recruit from Denmark

The University of Maine received a verbal commitment from 16-year old Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup who hails from Charlottenlund, Denmark late last week. He’s in his second season with the Select Academy 16U squad that plays out of the South Kent School in Connecticut.

The 5-foot-11 183 pound forward has followed up his 17 goal and 19 assist campaign last year in USPHL play with 11 goals and five assists in eight contests this season.

The earliest Schmidt-Svejstrup will arrive is 2016. We will have more on his commitment later on this week.

A.J. Drobot is settling in with the New Jersey Rockets EHL team. He has two goals and eight assists in 13 games this season. In the last five games, he recorded two assists in a game three times. The Rockets go on Thanksgiving break and won’t return to to action until Nov. 30.

Jake Pappalardo gets his season underway with a two assist effort against North Yarmouth Academy on Saturday.

Here’s an update on all the recruits.
