Coaching changes for the Maineiacs; Bibeau recalled

In a pair of unrelated moves, the Lewiston Maineiacs announced this evening that Reg Bourcier has resigned as the team’s goaltending coach and goaltender Antoine Bibeau has been recalled from Trois-Rivieres of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League.

Bourcier was in his third season with the Maineiacs where he worked with several goalkeepers, who has since moved on to professional hockey.

Peter Delmas is currently with Wichita Thunder along with Adrien Lemay, who with the Allen Americans, both of the CHL.

“A lot of good goaltenders have come through Lewiston, and (Bourcier) shares in the credit for that success,” said Maineiacs’ Managing Consultant and Governor Bill Schurman in a prepared statement.

The team release indicated that Bourcier reason for leaving was the start of the new business and the birth of a new child.

Roger Shannon hopes to hire a new person for the local area for the position.

The Maineiacs announced that Antoine Bibeau recalled this evening.

This is 16-year old’s second time with the Maineiacs this season. In 12 games with Trois-Rivieres, Bibeau has gone 6-3-1 with a 3.02 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
