Kabanov set to make his debut tonight

After one full practice and a morning skate, Lewiston Maineiacs head coach J.F. Houle has seen enough of Kirill Kabanov to insert him into the line-up Friday night against the Val d’Or Foreurs.

“He’s going to play,” said Houle. “Hopefully he helps us.”

It will only be his third game of the season and Houle has no set line for the third round pick of the New York Islanders.

“He needs to get in game shape so, I think it’s important for him to play to get his legs going. I am going to spot him with different lines (during the game).”

Coach Houle didn’t say who will Kabanov will replace in the line-up.

Tyler Piercy will be Nicolas Champion’s back up once again tonight as Andrey Makarov continues to recover from an injury suffered a couple weeks back.
