The Gloucester Rangers Junior ‘A’ hockey club is pleased to announce that Zach Lockey will be attending the University of New England this year to study psychology as well as furthering his hockey career.
Zach, who is from Elizabeth Pa, caught the eye of our scouts at a tournament in Boston prior to last season and played a key role in the success of the 2009-10 Gloucester Rangers Junior ‘A’ season. Although he was only 5′ 10″, Zach always played with a big heart and scored some key goals for the team last season. He had 24 goals and 39 assists in 50 games with the Rangers last year.
He was a team player as well as a fan favourite and enjoyed his time here in the Ottawa area. He made a lot of friends and his teammates wish him all the best in this next stage of his education and hockey career and look forward to his feedback on their play this season.
“It was a pleasure having Zach as a member of our team this past season and we will be following his progress and wish him all the best,” says Paul Jennings, the General Manager of the team.
