Apparently, Head coach of the Portland Pirates, Kevin Dineen is heading back to Columbus for his second interview with the Blue Jackets.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Dineen is one of two candidates who will be getting a second interview, Manitoba Moose head coach Scott Arniel is the other.

Dineen met with the Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson two weeks ago for his first interview.

He declined to make any public comment on the interview only to say that he’s going through a process.

Dineen has spent five years as head coach of the Pirates, where guided the team to a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2006 and 2008 and leads in wins (219), win percentage (.610) and games coached (400). Dineen also won the Louis A.R. Pieri Award as the AHL’s top head coach in 2006.
