Bowdoin College junior defenseman Kyle Shearer-Hardy (Montreal, Que.) has been named a Division II/III All-Star by the New England Hockey Writers. Shearer-Hardy, who was named First-Team All-NESCAC and All-American earlier this spring, helped lead the Polar Bears to a 19-7-1 record and NCAA Quarterfinal berth in 2009-10.

Shearer-Hardy paced the Polar Bears in offensive production while patrolling the blue line and finished as the top scoring defenseman in the NESCAC and fourth among Division III with 30 points (eight goals, 22 assists). His assist total also ranked best of all players in the conference. The dynamic junior excelled at special teams as well, notching 12 assists on the power play. For his career, Shearer-Hardy has 25 goals, ranking fifth all-time among Bowdoin defenseman.

The Hoosac School graduate was one of just five NESCAC players on the 18-member All-New England team.
