Contract extension for Whitehead?

With one year remaining on University of Maine men’s ice hockey head coach Tim Whitehead’s contract, it appears he’s due for a contract extension.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Univ. of Maine Athletic Director James Blake is prepared to offer Whitehead a contract extension. (Click here to read)

Whitehead just finished his ninth season as the Black Bears head coach, guiding them to a winning season for the first time (19-17-3) in three years. The Black Bears were one win away from winning a Hockey East title and a berth in the NCAA Frozen Four tournament for the first time since 2006-’07.
