MAINEiacs Fall Despite Solid Effort

LEWISTON, ME – Gabriel Dumont scored and added an assist to lead the Drummondville Voltigeurs to a 5-1 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs Tuesday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The win gives Drummondville a 3-0 series lead heading into Wednesday’s Game 4.

Zachary Evens-Renaud tied the game 1-1 at 15:52 of the second period when he fired a slapshot past Goaltender Jake Allen. The goal was the first career QMJHL goal for Renaud. Lewiston controlled the second period outshooting Drummondville 16-6 in the period.,

Despite a solid second period effort, it all changed in the final 11 seconds, when Gabriel Dumont scored giving the Volts a 2-1 lead at the end of two. Drummondville took over the game in the third, scoring three more times in the to seal the 5-1 win. Despite the loss, Lewiston generated more shots in Game 3 with 28, while the Voltigeurs registered 38. For a complete game recap.
