Maineiacs Notebook: Getting Ready for Drummondville

After practice this morning at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, Jean-Francois Houle indicated Jordan Kennedy will get the start in net against the Drummondville Voltigeurs Wednesday night.

“Adrien has been tired, so right now Jordan Kennedy will get the start,” said Houle.

Lewiston also have games with the Victoriaville Tigres on Friday night in the home finale and travel up to Drummondville on Sunday to finish the season.

With a win or a tie the Maineiacs take care of business and lock-up a playoff birth. They can also clinch if the Baie-Comeau Drakkar lose one of their final three games. They also have a game on Wednesday against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Don’t expect Lewiston to do any scoreboard watching tomorrow.

“We are just doing our job and getting ready for tomorrow,” Houle said. “What happens, happens, our fate is in our own hands.”

“We just need to come out and win a game.”

The Maineiacs know who they will face in the first round of the playoffs if lock up the birth. Drummondville will be their opponent and Houle isn’t worried if some of their star players get the night off either tomorrow or Sunday.

“We got plenty of video on them the last couple of months,” he added. “We kind of know what they will be doing. They are so good at what they do, I am not worried (about their player getting a rest).

Injury Report

Stefan Fournier will be getting his cast off this week, but it’s 50/50 if he will see the ice again this year.

Zachary Evans Renaud wasn’t on the ice for practice and Houle mentioned a defenseman getting a MRI today.
