Mancari recalled to Buffalo

The Buffalo Sabres recalled Mark Mancari this morning after the team arrived in Syracuse, NY, where they will take on the Syracuse Crunch at 7pm at the War Memorial at OnCenter.

Mancari was the Pirates leading scoring with 62 points (22g, 40a) in 61 games and was a plus-14.

He recalled comes as a result of an injury suffered by Drew Stafford, in which, Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said in the Buffalo News, “He’s not doing very good. It looks like this groin injury is going to be a good period of time.”

Portland is already shorthanded due with Tyler Ennis (concussion) and Brad Larsen (lower body) out with injuries, and Travis Turnbull and Matt Generous serving their two-game suspensions.

Mancari will join the team in New York as the Sabres take on the New York Rangers on Sunday.

The Pirates will end their three-game road trip through New York State with a game on Sunday at HSBC Arena, home the Buffalo Sabres.
