Rutt, 18, is currently playing in his first season for the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs and has had considerable success in his short time with the club. In 29 games with the club, he has nine goals, nine assists for 18 points.

The Scarborough native and All-State defenseman for Scarborough High School last season has turned some heads in the NHL as well, as he’s currently ranked #209 in the Central Scouting’s North American midterm rankings.

Because of NCAA rules, Maine cannot comment on Rutt joining the Black Bears until he signs a National Letter of Intent, which will happen at some point in the fall.
