Maineiacs edge out Rouyn-Noranda on home ice

Despite being outshot 50-15, the Lewiston MAINEiacs defeated the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3-2 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee Friday night.

Lewiston scored the game’s first goal halfway though the first period, when rookie Francis Beauvillier netted his 11th of the season. The Huskies responded 19 seconds later, on a goal by Sergey Ostapchuk tying the game at one. Lewiston reclaimed the lead on a goal by yet another rookie, Jess Tanguy scored at 17:54 of the period.

Tanguy scored his second goal of the game, on a wrap-around shot that banked off the pads of goaltender and into the net giving Lewiston a 3-1 lead at the end of two periods. MAINEiacs goaltender Adrien Lemay was stellar, making 48 saves on the night. Cornet added a late goal to pull within one, but Lewiston would hang on for the 3-2 victory.
