Jarnot, a senior defenseman and assistant captain, had three goals against the Polar Bears in a 4-2 win on Friday night before a packed Alfond Rink crowd and added a pair of goals in a 4-3 win at Bowdoin on Saturday. He also helped out defensively in limiting the high-scoring Polar Bears to just five goals in the two games.

Jarnot had the third goal of the game in the 4-2 win on Friday and then scored the first and fourth goals in the victory Saturday. His scoring and defense helped the Mules sweep the season series between the two teams for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Colby also went 3-0-1 against Bowdoin at Alfond Rink during Jarnot’s four years.

Colby’s defense played a big part in the game, with Jarnot helping to keep the Polar Bears to a 1-for-11 effort on the power play. Bowdoin had come into the week with the most goals of any NESCAC team and were third in the league on the power play.

Jarnot is tied for second in the NESCAC in defensemen scoring with four goals and three assists for seven points. He also ranks in a tie for second place in game-winning goals with two. Jarnot had eight goals and 23 assists for 31 career points.

Colby (6-2) is off for the holiday break until playing at Salem State on January 4.
