Drummondville snaps Lewiston win streak on home ice.

Lewiston, ME – All good things must come to an end. The Drummondville Voltigeurs outlasted the Lewiston Maineiacs 5-1 in front of 2,844 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, snapping Lewiston’s six home game-winning streak.

The Voltigeurs struck with the man advantage to open the scoring. Ryan McKiernan fired one past Adrien Lemay for his first goal of the season. The helpers went to Philippe Lefebvre and Gabriel Dumont. The goal came with 9:05 to play in the opening frame.

Alexander Beaton tied the contest up just over a minute into the second period. Eric Gelinas and Pierre-Olivier Morin were credited with assists.

37 seconds into the final frame Gabriel Dumont notched his fourth goal of the season. The play was made possible by Marc-Olivier Vachon and Andrew Randazzo.

In the middle of the third, the Maineiacs couldn’t match Drummondville’s pace. Sean Couturier deposited his sixth of the season; Alexandre Comtois and Charles Landry assisted. 1:55 later Jonathan Brunelle sealed the win. Landry earned his second assist of the night.

Brunelle added a powerplay goal with five second remaining in the contest. Marc-Antoine Desnoyers and Ondrej Palat set the goal up.

Lewiston goalie Adrien Lemay was bombarded with 41 shots, stopping 36 of them. At the other end, Antoine Tardif pushed away 23 shots for the Voltigeurs. Lewiston was 0-for-3 with the man advantage and Drummondville was 2-for-9.
