The Maine Black Bears will be with out sophomores Scott Darling and Ryan Hegarty this weekend in the series against Union as they were suspended by the team. It sounds like it’s because of violation of team rules.

Scott Darling, 21, had a 10-14-3 record with a 2.76 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage as a freshman.

Ryan Hegary, 19, had three assists in 24 games last season.

Tanner House leaves practice

Tanner House left practice on Wednesday when he was hit in the leg by a puck. He went to the bench for a few minutes before heading to the locker room. He didn’t return at all to the ice.

Kevin Swallow skates

Swallow was the only player that didn’t participate in practices this afternoon. Although he took the ice in sweat pants while the ice was being resurfaced for the second half of practice.

He wasn’t pushing very hard. I would say he was going no more than 30 percent.

Tweaking in the line combinations

Lines looked a little different today practice. Adam Shemansky moved to the blue line with Gustav Nyquist and Tanner House. The defensive pairing was Will O’Neil and Jeff Dimmen.

Theo Andersson took Shemansky’s spot the gray line with Matt Mangene and Kyle Beattie. Ryan Hegarty and Nick Pryor were the defenseman.

The black line had Brian Flynn, Spencer Abbott, and Robbie Dee. Josh Van Dyk and Mike Cornell were on the back end.

The white line consisted of Kyle Solomon, David de Kastrozza, and Brett Carriere .Mike Banwell and Mark Nemec played defense.

The red line had freshmen Joey Diamond and Klas Leidermark.

The blue and black lines were used in powerplay situations. I thought the black line moved the puck very well in those situations.

Dimmen and O’Neil were very good when they were playing in their own zone.

The team will be back on the ice tomorrow one more time before heading to New York to face Union on Friday.
