Maine Moose add a trio to the Super Elite roster

Augusta, ME – With their season just underway, the Maine Moose have signed a trio of players to their Super Elite team and one to their Elite team.

Defensemen Ryan MacMullin and Matthew Sargeson, and forward Jean Laforest will join the Super Elite squad.

Maine Moose Logo “These players have all been on our radar screen for quite some time,” said GM Steve Levesque in the team’s press release. “We scouted them for nearly a year and they all participated in our Halifax tryout last April. They all possess the hard work, grit and skilled play-making ability that epitomize players from the Maritime Provinces.”

The Moose signed defenseman Sargeson, a native of Rosemont, Quebec, last week.

All three played for the Ontario Hockey Academy last season, while Jean Laforest was invited to this year’s training camp for the Shawinigan Cataractes.

“We are very excited about Mathew joining our growing cadre of skilled players this season,” said Levesque. “His grit and playmaking ability will make him one of the top defensemen in the league.”

Jean’s younger brother, Pierre LaForest, will start the season with the Elite squad.

Both the Super Elite and Elite squads for the Maine Moose will be in action this weekend at the Kennebec Ice Arena, taking on the Eastern Kodiaks organization.
