Finn and Gelinas to NHL Camps

With NHL camps opening later this week, two Lewiston Maineiacs have received invitations.

Samuel Finn, 18, has received a free agent tryout with the Colorado Avalanche. He leaves for Colorado on Monday.

Eric Gelinas Finn didn’t play the last three pre-season games because of a mild groin pull. Don MacAdam said they held him out for pre-cautionary reasons.

“It’s just a mild groin pull,” said Don MacAdam. “We wanted to make sure we wanted him 100 percent healthy before he went to (Colorado) camp. We wanted him to have the camp experience.”

The other player heading to NHL camp is Eric Gelinas. The 2009 2nd round pick of the New Jersey Devils will leave the Maineiacs on Tuesday.

It’s unknown if both players will be back for the two games this upcoming weekend. The team opens up the season against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens on Friday. They face the Quebec Remparts on Sunday.
