Don MacAdam’s post game comments

Maineiacs head coach Don MacAdam contacted me after my story last night. If you looked at the box score you would think Jordan Kennedy had a bad night, but MacAdam’s disagreed with that notion.

“Our goaltending looked very good,” he said. “They weren’t good penalties, but I wouldn’t call them penalties.”

The Sea Dogs scored two powerplay goals in the first five minutes of the game and MacAdam mentioned Jordan Kennedy was left out to dry. One of his reasons were because the team wasn’t ready when they came off the bus.

“We realized if we aren’t ready when we come off the bus, we will get our game handed to us,” MacAdam said.

He was also pleased to see Pierre-Olivier Morin and Alex Beaton playing well.

Adrien Lemay will be starting in goal tonight as the Maineiacs play in Fredericton, and Francis Beauvillier and Jean-Francois Plante will also be in the lineup for Lewiston.

The Woodstock Maineiacs?

I think the Woodstock Slammers of the Maritime Junior “A” Hockey League should seriously think about changing their name to the Maineiacs. The Slammers have several players with Maineiacs ties on their training camp roster.

Tyler Piercy G (Maineiacs’ 9th round pick in 2009)
Sean Stagles D (2008-2009)
Nick Huard F (2008-2009)
Shawn Hird F (2009 Training Camp Invitee)

Also on the roster is Travis Roy finalist Dylan Fitzpatrick from Brewer.
