Sugden would look good in a Pirates uniform

Just checking in today with a quick thought…. After doing some light reading this afternoon I started to think that maybe the Sabres are close to landing an enforcer for Portland. Reading Lindsey Kramer’s blog at The Post-Standard I sort of began to think what if Portland was the future home of Brandon Sugden?

At 6-4, 233-pounds, he’d certainly fill the role of enforcer for the Pirates. He wouldn’t put up many points, nor would he be expected to, but still he fills a vital role in protecting the little guys on the team.

After two years in the LNAH, he spent last season in Hartford where he put up 136 PIM’s in 56 games. Pirates’ coach Kevin Dineen saw enough of him that maybe he fits into the system.

Not only that, but you can’t help but love his nickname “Sugar”.

What do you think??
