Another blockbuster in the works with Quebec

Lewiston, ME– The Lewiston Maineiacs and the Quebec Remparts appear to have done business again. Two media outlets, RDS, and the Sun Journal are reporting the Remparts will acquire Danick Paquette and Peter Delmas as part of a proposed six player trade at the draft.

Although the Maineiacs aren’t officially commenting on the rumor, the Sun Journal reports Paquette’s father, Lucien, confirmed the trade on his Facebook page. The team also sends Patrick Cusack and Dominic Savoie to the “Old Capital.”

Paquette, 18, served as the Maineiacs’ captain this past season, lit the lamp 25 goals ad added another 25 assists. He also had a league high 230 penalty minutes. He was the Atlanta Thrashers thrid round selection in 2008.

Delmas, 18, struggled in his third season in Lewiston. He was 9-25-1, with a 4.11 goals-against-average, and a .867 save percentage.

Cusack, 19, was one of two Maineiacs selections in the 2005 draft. The other being Kevin Marshall who was sent to Quec at last year’s draft. This past season, he collected three goals and 28 assists in 59 games.

Savoie, 18, was the ultility man for the Maineiacs. He played both forward and defensive position for the team. He had seven goals and eight assists in 61 games.

Quebec will give up 16-year-old defenseman, Samuel Carrier, 17-year-old forward, Sébastien Trudeau, and high draft picks, according to RDS .

Samuel Carrier notched four goals and five assists in 56 games in his rookie campaign. With Team Quebec at the World Under-17 Challenge this past January, he had a goal in five games.

Trudeau notched 19 goals and 22 assists in 68 contests this season.

Last year, Kevin Marshall, a 2008 2nd round pick (Jerome Raymond)*, and a 3rd round pick in 2009 were sent to Quebec for the ninth overall selection in the 2008 draft (Michael Chaput), the 14th pick in the 2008 Draft (Etienne Bourdeur), the 34 overall selection in last year’s draft (Zach Phillips), and a sixth round pick in 2008 (Simon Bissonnette).

*The pick was then traded to Rouyn-Noranda who selected Raymond.
