Mainers at the Eastern Hockey Showcase

Haverhill, Mass– The Eastern Junior Hockey League and the Valley Junior Warriors held the annual Eastern Hockey Showcase this past weekend. A few players with Maine ties participated in the event.

Jacob Rutt of Scarborough had a goal and two assists with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs club. Brian Billett was 1-1-1 with a 2.14 goals against average and a .894 save percentage.

Michael Morrison, a defenseman who played with North Yarmouth Academy last season, had a goal and an assists in four games with the Monarch team.

Evan Schultz, who spent last year with the Portland Junior Pirates, had no points with the Green Mountain Glades.

Eric Bonawitz of Lewiston, suited up for the Syracuse Stars. He had zero points in the showcase. Former St. Dom’s teammate, Dustin Oberlander had a goal for the Stars in the showcase.

Most of the players in this showcase are most likely to play for their teams for the upcoming season. Zach Phillips, who schedule to play for the Boston Junior Bruins next season, according to Chris Heinsenberg, wasn’t on their roster for this event.
