The season is finally over for two Maine recruits

Shawn Sirman had a nice run heading into the RBC Cup. The Kingston Voyageurs couldn’t keep up with the competition from the teams out West. After their Sunday loss to the Victoria Grizzlies, on Tuesday, they recorded their only victory against the Summerside Capitals 7-5.

Wednesday, they lost to the Humboldt Broncos. Thursday and Friday they were defeated by the Vernon Vipers 8-5 and 6-3.

The Voyageurs were outshot in every game by double digits. Includling the 50 shots the Capitals fired on Sirman in Kingston’s win. Sirman had a 5.77 goals-against-average and a .852 save percentage for the RBC Cup.

Johnnie Searfoss season comes to an end

After the strong start by the Fargo Force in the Clark Cup opening game, it was all down hill from there. The Indiana ICE won three staight to capture the Clark Cup. Searfoss had two goals and two assists in ten games. He was a +3 and fired 18 shots on net.

Phillips playing for the Junior Bruins

Maineiacs 2008 2nd round pick and U-Mass Amherst recruit, Zack Phillips, is going to play for the Boston Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League next season, according to Chris Heisenberg.

The 16-year-old had 19 goals and 29 assists in 30 games for the Lawrence Academy Spartans last season.
