More accolades for Dumoulin and Gelinas

New York, New York– Days after receiving their NHL Combine invitation, Brian Dumoulin and Eric Gelinas know where they stand come the combine.

Eric Gelinas is the 38th rated North American skater by NHL Central Scouting in their final rankings. He fell seven spots from their mid-term rankings where he was ranked 31st.

For Brian Dumoulin, he jumps up three spots from the mid-term rankings. He’s rated the 61st skater.

Kyle Beattie, New Hampshire Junior Monarchs leading scorer and 2010 Maine recruit is ranked 99th on the North American skater list. The 17-year-old had 20 goals and 40 assists in his rookie campaign. He wasn’t on the mid-term rankings.

The NHL Central Scouting has separate lists for North American and European skaters. They also have separate lists for North American and European goalies.

Gelinas, Beattie and Dumoulin steal the headlines among local players but the Central Scouting named a few local ties in their non-rated section.

Lewiston Maineiacs’ defenseman Samuel Finn was one of those names. He was acquired in a mid-season deal that sent defenseman Michael Ward and Stephen Horyl to Cape Breton for 17-year-old Samuel Finn, 20 year-old Murdock MacLellan, and a 2010 fifth round draft pick.

He had 4 goals and 16 assists in 63 regular season games. Two goals and eight assists in 32 games came in a Maineiacs sweater. He had three assists in four playoff games.

Johnnie Searfoss, a Maine recruit, who’s currently playing for the Fargo Force of the USHL, is also an honorable mention. He had 15 goals and 19 assists in 60 games played.

After a stellar year with the Hamilton Red Wings, Joey Diamond found his name on the list. He had 42 goals and 34 assists in 45 games.

Fellow Dumoulin and Beattie teammate with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs, Kelen Corkum was also listed. The Maine recruit was injured most of the season. In the 13 games he did play, he ended up with four goals and nine assists.

Former Maine recruit, Patrick Mceachen was also named. He withdrew his commitment earlier this spring. He will be headed to Clarkson in the fall.
