Wilson suspened after an off-ice altercation

Orono, ME– Dave Wilson, a junior goaltender for the Maine Black Bears has been suspended by the team as he faces domestic assault charges.

He was arrested in wee hours on April 3rd after allegedly assaulting an ex-girlfriend at the Bear Brew Pub in Orono . According to the Portland Press Herald, Wilson grabbed her by the neck and pulled her back as she tried to walk away. Wilson was asked to leave the bar and the women pressed charges shortly there after.

He was released later in the morning after spending a few hours at the Penobscot County Jail. He will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. May 28 in Bangor District Court. Wilson and his lawyer say he will plead not guilty. He could face up to a year in prison if convicted.

In 14 games in 2008-2009, he had a record of 3-8-1, a goals-against-average of 2.82 and an .901 save percentage
