Several local players named to the Chicago Showcase

Chicago, Illinois– Team Northern New England roster was announced for the upcoming Chicago Showcase which runs from April 15 to 19.

Mike Chase is one of twelve players with connections to Maine. The Travis Roy finalist had an outstanding senior year as he potted 21 goals and 24 assists for the Falmouth Yachtsmen. Kevin Hart, a defenseman from Greely was also named to the squad. C.J. Bergeron of St. Dom’s will also be flying out to Chicago as he had 28 points on the season including 14 goals.

The state’s second leading scorer, Jake Rutt, a defenseman was also named. The junior had 26 goals and 25 assists to lead the Red Storm. Biddeford’s Cam Madore who was second on the club in scoring with 13 goals and 8 assists is Biddeford’s only representative.

Three players from North Yarmouth Academy lead the way for the prep players. Nick Luce a junior forward had a goal in three contests at the Festivals last weekend in the 1992 age bracket. Defenseman Christoffer Linder is also a junior at NYA and Kyle Williams, a defenseman, is a senior.

Kyle Williams a forward at Hebron Academy, Brian Fleming a goalie at Kents Hill, and Thomas Paine of Bridgton Academy also have made the team.

The team opens up play against Team Colorado on April 15th. The team is made up high school and prep players who haven’t made a college commitment.

Three to the New England Camp

The New England Yankee Conference announced Connor Anthoine, Evan Schultz, and Brian Hart all have been giving an invitation to New England Under-16 Player Development Camp, which is being held Thursday, July 30 – Monday, August 3rd, 2009 at the University of Connecticut.
