Maine steals the momentum and the win

Boston, Mass– With the Boston University Terriers up 3-1 with 8:19 remaining in the first, Maine responded immediately with two goals within a minute to tie the contest. They added three more unanswered to defeat BU 6-3.

After John McCarthy made it 3-1 at the 11:41 mark of the first with Jason Lawrence getting the only assist; Gustav Nyquist got his eleventh of the season to make it 3-2 26 seconds later. Matt Duffy and Tanner House picked up the helpers on the powerplay.

58 seconds after McCarthy scored, Keif Orsini got his third of the season to tie the game. Kevin Swallow and Simon Danis-Pepin set the tally up.

Spencer Abbott found himself on the scoresheet again when he got his sixth of the season at the 10:11 mark of the second period. Simon Danis-Pepin and Christopher Hahn also recorded points.

In the third, Nyquist got his second of the game at the 6:16 mark. Will O’Neil and Robby Dee assisted on the play. Dee would get the final marker with 8:56 to play. The helpers went to Tanner House and Matt Duffy. The last three Maine goals were all on the man advantage.

Chris Hahn got the scoring started 42 seconds into the content with Nyquist tallying the lone assist.

Boston University got the momentum back when Brandon Yip notched his 17th just under three minutes later. Colin Wilson and Chris Higgins set the goal up.

Luke Popko made it 2-1`at the 5:23 marker of the first stanza. Matt Giilroy and Zach Cohen grabbed the two assists.

Scott Darling made 29 saves in the victory. Kieran Millan allowed six goals on 26 shots.

The deciding game three will be played at Agganis Arena on Sunday at 7pm.
