A late goal sparks BU to victory

Boston, Mass– The Maine Black Bears looked to upset the number one team in the nation.

Colby Cohen, Colorado Avalanche property, had other plans. The BU sophomore scored on the powerplay with 2:56 to play to give the Terriers the 2-1 victory.

Robby Dee and Jeff Dimmen were in the sin bin for the Black Bears.

Maine got on the board first when Tanner House put it home with 23 seconds remaining in the first on the powerplay. Matt Duffy and Will O’Neil assisted on House’s tenth goal of the season.

Cohen had a two point night as he assisted on Kevin Shattenkirk’s tying goal at the 10:59 mark of the middle frame. Colin Wilson, the nation’s second leading scorer heading into the contest aslso picked up an assist. Shattenkirk and Wilson assised on Cohen’s goal.

Kieran Millan made 20 saves in the victory. Scott Darling earned the game’s third star as he turned aside 23 shots in the losing effort.

Maine looks to extend their season Saturday night as they look to bring the series to the deciding game three that would be played on Sunday. Both games take place at Aggins Arena.
