Travis Roy Finalists named

The following four senior players have been named finalists for the prestigious Travis Roy Award, given annually to the most outstanding senior in Class A Hockey. The Travis Roy Award winner will be announced at the Class A Hockey State Banquet at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston at 12:00pm on Sunday, March 15th.

In addition to the Roy Award, the All State teams will be named as well as the Bob Boucher Coach of the Year Awards and Team Sportsmanship Awards. Brad Holt, Head Hockey Coach at the University of New England, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event

Mike Chase – Falmouth, Forward
21 Goals, 23 Assists, 44 pts

The 2nd year Captain, Chase is the first 3 Time 1st Team All State selection since 2002. Also selected to the 2nd Team All State his freshman season, the speedy forward is Falmouth’s All Time Career Scoring Leader with 194 career points. Mike has been selected to the Northern New England Chicago Showcase team in both 2008 and 2009 and is an Honor Roll member, receiving awards for Academic Excellence in multiple subjects. Chase has volunteered with the Big Buddy program in Falmouth for 2 years and also volunteers with local youth and middle school hockey teams. He will play junior hockey next year.

Richard Paradis – St. Dom’s, Defense
21 Goals, 29 Assists, 50 pts

A 4 year letterman in three sports (Golf, Baseball) and current Captain, Paradis was 2nd in Class A West in scoring this year. Named to the 2nd Team All State last season as a forward, he made the transition to defense this season with great success while leading the Saints in all offensive categories. Richard regularly volunteers with Lewiston Youth Hockey and assists with multiple school activities, such as music ministry and school fund raising. He plans on attending college next year with Clemson University being his first choice.

Shawn Lee – Waterville, Defense
14 Goals, 17 Assists, 31 pts

A four year varsity award winner and captain of this year’s State Champion, Lee is also an accomplished three sport athlete. Shawn is a two-time first team All East defensemen as well as two time All-KVAC first team selection. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has been named to the all-academic team in both soccer and hockey for the KVAC. Shawn volunteers with Central Maine Youth Hockey and is also an official for youth hockey.

Dylan Fitzpatrick – Brewer, Forward
27 Goals, 24 Assists, 51 pts

A four year varsity player & 2 year captain for the Witches, Dylan is the leading scorer in Eastern Class A. A two time First Team All State Selection, he is undecided on his future contemplating college or junior hockey. Dylan has tallied 215 points in his career at Brewer on 117 goals and 98 career assists.
