Devils feel the heat after game with the Pirates

Portland, ME — Fallout from the game last Sunday against the Lowell Devils has finally come down from the AHL office as Devils’ defenseman Mark Fraser has been suspended for three games and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond was suspended for one game for their actions in the third period against Portland.

Fraser was third man in a fight between Michael Swift and Jimmy Bonneau and after being pulled from the pile he inadvertently punched a linesmen in the nose, drawing blood.

LeBlond made a mock attempt at attacking Pirates’ goalie Kellen Briggs after Bonneau ran into Devils goalie Scott Clemenensen. He also made several throat-slashing gestures toward the Pirates penalty box during the altercation in the third period.

Nobody from the Pirates was suspended and the only punishment handed out was Pirates head coach Kevin Dineen being ejected after a confrontation with Devils head coach Kurt Kleinendorst.
