Maine adds two more

The University of Maine received two verbal commitments on Wednesday.

Robin Bergman is a 1988 born forward from Stockholm, Sweden. He has 16 goals and 17 assists in 43 games.

He will be in Orono for next season along with four other players playing in the USHL.

Nick Pryor, a defenseman, has seven goals and 15 assists with the Des Moines Buccaneers and the Waterloo Blackhawks. His Blackhawks’ teammate, Derek Arnold has 17 goals and 8 assists in 39 games.

Mark Anthoine of the Chicago Steel has eight goals and 15 assists. Johnnie Searfoss has 13 goals and 26 points with the Fargo Force.

Maine also picked up a goaltender for the 2011 season. Matt McNeely, a 1993 born, of St. Thomas Academy (Minnesota). In nine games played, he’s 7-1 with a 1.75 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

At the National Select 15’s last summer, he posted a 2.80 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.

He’s the third recruit for the 2011 season joining Darcy Ashley and Brandon Francisco.

Ashley has 25 goals and 35 assists in 35 games with the Cornwall Superior Thunder.
