Beattie to Maine

Hooksett, NH– The Maine Black Bears have tapped in the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs program once again. This time snatching the Monarchs leading scorer Kyle Beattie for the 2010-2011 season.

The 17-year-old, has 20 goals and 40 assists in 56 games which is ninth in the Eastern Junior Hockey League.

The Avondale, Arizona native is believed to be heading to the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League next season. He was the Lancers 1st round pick, 5th overall in the 2007 USHL Futures Draft.

Beattie makes fourth Monarch this season to make the commitment to the Black Bears.

Adam Shemansky, the team second leading scorer, has 18 goals and 38 assists.

Matthew Mangene, who committed back in December has scored 12 goals and added 25 helpers.

Kelen Corkum, who has suffered through injuries this season, has nine goals and four assists in 13 contests.

Beattie is the third committed player for the 2010 season.

Stuart Higgins of the USA National Team Development Program Under-17 team has eight goals and 11 assists in 44 games.

Carlos Amestoy is played with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the OJHL and tallied ten goals and 15 assists in 43 games.
