Colin Wilson thinks having a short week was good for the team.

“Having that game (on Monday) kept us in the hockey mindset. So knowing we had a couple days off and playing was refreshing,” said Wilson.

They came out flying last night and you could see they didn’t have a hangover.

6:25pm:: Tim Whitehead says his club can’t give BU the chances that they had last night.

“Tomorrow night we can’t spot them those opportunities,” says Maine Head Coach Tim Whitehead

6:32pm: The teams have hit the ice for warm-ups. Maine is wearing a specialty jersey honoring the troops. I believe BU only brought up one set of jerseys so Maine just wore their away sweaters. Those won’t be auctioned off.

6:42pm: Brandon Yip has ten career points against the Black Bears. That’s the most against the Black Bears for the Terriers. Colin Wilson has five goals and three assists in five career games against Maine

6:45pm: The band has begun to play that means the warm ups are over.

6:51pm: Something I just notice on the roster is Chris Hahn and Matt Duffy are sporting “A’s” on their sweater.

7:02pm:Teams have hit the ice for pre-game introductions.

7:09pm: Puck is about to drop.. Game On!

7:10pm: Maine’s Gustav Nyquist had a great scoring chance but it just went wide.

7:17pm: No score to report, they just came back from a TV timeout. Players are exchanging plesantries. Brandon Yip and Mike Banwell got roughing calls

7:27pm: John McCarthy killed the final 31 seconds of BU’s powerplay as he was called for contact to the head. Maine is getting their chances.

7:38: One thing I have notice with Grant Rollheiser is he has been giving up a good amount of rebounds. Maine is out shooting BU 6-3. Maine has missed the net quite a few times.

7:43: After one stanza, it’s scoreless. The Terriers controlled the play for the final couple of minutes.

7:53pm: They should of kept the BU Terriers out to relive the number 3 moment in Maine’s Hockey East history. It was the 2002 quarter final match up that Maine ended up winning 4-3 to head to the Frozen Four.

8:04pm: Maine just killed off BU’s powerplay. One of the popular chants tonight by the student section is “Yip” in reference to Brandon Yip.

8:11pm: BU just killed off Colby Cohen’s cross-checking call. Dave Wilson went Dominik Hasek and raced for the puck. BU had a wide open net but couldn’t get a shot off.

8:15: Maine has a two man advantage with Cohen an Yip in the box.

8:22pm: Maine has taken the 1-0 lead with 6:45 left in the second when Jeff Marshall beat the defenseman to the biscuit. He was all alone with the goaltender

8:28pm: Gustav Nyquist makes it 2-0 with 5:38 remaining when he roofed it off of a rebound. Simon Danis Pepin and Brian Flynn assisted. 1:05 later, Dave Wilson couldn’t control the rebound. John McCarthy got his fourth of the season. Yip and Bonino got the helpers

8:35pm: After two periods, Maine leads 2-1

8:47pm: The jersey auction that’s going on right now, I just overheard Gustav Nyquist’s jersey is at 500 dollars and Scott Darlings is at 300 dollars.

8:52pm: The Puck just dropped 40 seconds ago for the third.

9:02pm: Maine just got a make up call when Eric Gryba was called for cross-checking. There was a crosscheck by a BU player moments earlier that went uncalled.

9:04pm: Maine just took two penalties in a matter of 24 seconds 4 on 3 BU

9:08: Maine just killed the 5 on 3 ten minutes left in the contest.

9:16pmBU is ou shooting Maine 26-16 we got six minutes left.

9:21pm:Nick Bonino tied it up with a back hand wrap around, the play is under review

9:24pm: The goal counts. Chris Higgins goes off for boarding. Brandon Yip got credit with the goal

9:27pm: Jeff Marshall took a hooking call with 47 seconds left

9:31pm: OT here we come. Bonino did get credit with the last goal.

9:40pm: We got 1:23 left both team has had chances. Maine had a 3 on 1 early on.

9:42pm: Each team grabs a point. Will be back later on with a game recap and reaction.

10:50pm: Game Recap

The students who are helping setting basketball court up are still chanting “Yip.” It’s getting annoying. Well I am signing off.
