Tigres shutout Lewiston

Lewiston, ME– After a 7-2 thumping of the Victoriaville Tigres, the Maineiacs couldn’t get the sweep. The Tigres defeated the Maineiacs 3-0 in front of 2,730 fans at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee Saturday night.

Antonio Mastropietro turned away 34 shots to get his second shutout of the season. Maxime Tanguay had a goal and two assists to lead the way. Kevin DuPont and Chad Earle also added a tally.

Peter Delmas turned away 24 shots in the loss.

With 2:10 remaining in the first, Chad Earle put in his ninth of the season on the board. The helpers went to former Maineiac Pierre-Luc Pelletier and Maxime Tanguay.

Just 69 seconds into the second, Dupont gave Victoriaville a two goal lead. Tanguay and Olivier Hinse helped out on the play At the 5:23 mark, Tanguay got his 19th of the season. Rookie Andrej Nestrasil got the lone assist.

Notes: Before the game, Garrett Clarke was suspended indefinitely for his cross check at the end of the game.

The length of the suspension will be announced later this week after reviewing the videotape of the incident and after consulting all concerned parties.
