6:41pm: The Riverhawks defeated New Hampshire by a final of 8-3 on November 14th. UNH did have 41 shots on goal. The Riverhawks had 35 shots on net.

Maine could be getting their third recruit for the 2010 season. It’s been reported that Nick Sorkin has received a scholarship offer from Maine. With Team Maryland he has seven goals and fourteen assists in 14 games. He will spend a year with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs next season.

7:01pm: I will be back during the first intermission. Dave Wilson is in net.

7:41pm: After twenty minutes, the game is scoreless. Maine offense was non-existant as they only mustered 2 shots. UMass-Lowell fired 15 shots. The Black Bears had two powerplay chances in the stanza.

Wilson had to make some saves in the period to keep the Black Bears in it. There were two key turnovers, Wilson tried a stretch pass up the center but the puck was intercepted. At the end of the first powerplay, Simon Danis-Pepin blew a tire in the offensive zone. Maine was able to get back defensively before anything happened.

8:41pm: After two periods, UMass-Lowell leads 2-1. None of the goals were pretty. The Riverhawks got on the board first at the 5:32 mark when Matt Ferreria banked one off Wilson’s pads. Wilson had no idea where it was as he was looking behind the net.

Maine tied it up when a Simon Danis-Pepin blast deflected off of Robby Dee into the net on the powerplay. That came at the 9:03 mark.

Pepin had some more trouble in the second when he whiffed on a shot and created a shorthanded chance. Wilson made a great sliding save.

Wilson would then give up a shorthanded tally when he wasn’t able to eat up a shot. It was sitting in the crease and UMass-Lowell put it into the open cage with 5:49 remaining.

There was some rough stuff in the middle of the stanza when three players on both teams paired up. All got roughing calls.

9:28pm Well put another loss in the loss column. UMass-Lowell came away with the 3-2 win.Spencer Abbott tied the contest up at the 5:24 mark. The Riverhawks came right back with a goal 62 seconds later with a goal from Kory Falite. I will finish off this live blog with post game reaction.
