Lewiston on the short end again

Shawinigan, QC– Luck isn’t on the Lewiston Maineiacs side. The Shawinigan Cataractes 4-3. Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll and Matthew Pistilli each had a goal and assist. Gabriel Girard made 20 shots in the victory.

Danick Paquette, Samuel Finn, and Dominic Savoie were the goal scorers for the Maineiacs. Adrien Lemay stopped 36 shots in his third game of the season.

After a scoreless first period, Cédric Lalonde-McNicoll would get the scoring started 4:46 into the second. He potted his 30th of the season. Newly acquired defenseman Alex Grant got one of his two assists and Matthew Pistilli getting the secondary assist.

The Lewiston Maineiacs would go up 2-1 with Danick Paquette getting his 19th of the season. It was a shorthanded goal with Dany Coulombe and Alexander Beaton getting the assists. The goal came at the 9:37 mark. Samuel Finn gave Lewiston the lead with 5:53 remaining. Alexander Beaton and Eric Gelinas set the goal up.

The lead would only last 21 seconds. Philippe Paradis got his 14th of the season. Dave Labrecque and Simon Lacroix added an assist to the assist column. With 1:12 remaining, Matthew Pistilli lit the lamp for the 28th time this season. Dave Labrecque and Cédric Lalonde-McNicoll got their second points of the night on the powerplay goal.

The only two goals that were scored in the third period, came 23 seconds apart. Maxime Legault got his 20th of the season with 1:25 remaining. Alex Grant and Maxime Macenauer set the tally up. Dominic Savoie would get Lewiston back within one with 62 seconds left. Matt Bourdeau got the only helper.
