Lewiston returns to the ABC

The Lewiston Maineiacs look to stop the two game losing streak when they host the Shawinigan Cataractes on Thanksgiving eve (7pm). The Maineiacs surprised Shawinigan as they scored three unanswered goals in the first. The Cataractes responded with three unanswered tallies of their own as the Cataractes defeated Lewiston 7-4. On Friday, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan rolls in for a Black Friday tilt (7pm). The Maineiacs defeated the Titan 5-3 on November 1st. Sunday, Lewiston travels to Victoriaville (4pm).

Shawinigan Cataractes

2008-2009 Season: 22-4-0-0 (1st in the Telus Central)
Goals For: 123 (1st in the League)
Goals Against: 65 (2nd in the League)
Powerplay Goals: 52 (Tied for 1st in the League)
Powerplay Percentage: 36.6%  (1st in the League)
Penalty Kill Percentage: 81.0% (6th in the League)
Short Handed Goals Allowed: 30 (8th in the League)
Short Handed Goals For: 3 (Tied for 7th in the League)

The Cataractes look to be the team to beat in the QMJHL with the recent slide that the Quebec Remparts are going through. Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll is averaging two points a game with 48 in 24 games. He has 19 goals. Nicholas Petersen has 11 goals and 27 assists. Matthew Pistilli has 16 goals and 2o assists. Dave Labrecque is second on the team with 25 assists and has 31 total points.

On defense, they are led by Simon Lacroix who has seven goals and 16 assists. 2009 Draft eligible defenseman, Charles-Olivier Roussel, has six goals and 15 assists. Another player that will be draft eligible is Gabriel Lemieux who has four goals and nine assists.

Timo Pielmeier has probably been the biggest acquisition this past off season. He has a 15-2 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .935 save percentage. Gabriel Girard has seen a good portion of games. The 17-year-old has a 7-1 record with a 2.68 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

Acadie Bathurst Titan

2008-2009 Season: 11-13-4-2 (4th in the Eastern Division)
Goals For: 87 (Tied for 9th in the League)
Goals Against: 100 (13th in the League)
Powerplay Goals: 30 (12th in the League)
Powerplay Percentage: 16.9%  (15th in the League)
Penalty Kill Percentage: 78.6% (10th in the League)
Short Handed Goals Allowed: 36 (12th in the League)
Short Handed Goals For: 3 (Tied for 7th in the League)

The Titan are led by 20-year-old Spencer Jezegou, he has 13 goals and 21 assists in 31 games. Tomy Joly has 15 goals and a total of 31 points. Eric Faille has 20 points including seven goals in 16 games.

They have two high scoring defenseman in Drew Paris and Remi Blanchard. Paris has seven goals and 15 assists. Blanchard has four goals and 14 assists.

Nicolas Champion has a 10-8 record with a 3.06 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. Frederic Piche has an 0-5-2 record with a 3.59 goals against average and a .893 save percentage.

Victoriaville Tigres

2008-2009 Season: 11-17-0-0 (3rd in the Telus Central)
Goals For: 84 (11th in the League)
Goals Against: 102 (14th in the League)
Powerplay Goals: 25 (16th in the League)
Powerplay Percentage: 17.0%  (14th in the League)
Penalty Kill Percentage: 75.9% (14th in the League)
Short Handed Goals Allowed: 40 (15th in the League)
Short Handed Goals For: 2 (Tied for 13th in the League)

Alexandre Labonte leads the team in scoring with 11 goals and 12 assists. Dave Nolin has six goals and 16 assists. Four players have 18 points. Chicago draft pick, Maxime Tanguag has nine goals, Philip-Michael Devos has eight goals, rookies Brandon Hynes has 14 goals, and Andrej Nestrasil has seven goals.

Antoine Laperriere has three goals and six assists. Kirill Tulupov has seven assists and Joel Chouinard tallied two goals and five assists.

Kevin Poulin has an 8-13 record with a 3.18 goals against average with a .897 save percentage. Loic Boivin is 2-4 with a 4.41 goals against average and a .821 save percentage.

Lewiston MAINEiacs

2008-2009 Season: 9-17-0-0 (4th in the Telus Central)
Goals For: 75 (15th in the League)
Goals Against: 121 (17th in the League)
Powerplay Goals: 19 (18th in the League)
Powerplay Percentage: 12.8%  (18th in the League)
Penalty Kill Percentage: 72.3% (18th in the League)
Short Handed Goals Allowed: 54 (18th in the League)
Short Handed Goals For: 8 (1st in the League)

Max Gratchev has become the Maineiacs’ leading scorer with seven goals and 14 assists. Danick Paquette has 11 goals and 7 assists. Alexander Beaton is Lewiston’s third leading scorer with seven goals and a total of 16 points. Marc Bourgeois has eight goals and seven assists.

After Eric Gelinas was ranked the seven best player from the QMJHL for the upcoming NHL Draft, he had a big weekend last weekend, he tallied two goals and added an assist. His season totals are five goals and 11 assists. Michael Ward has three goals and nine assists. Patrick Cusack has seven assists. Denis Reul has a goal and six assists.

Peter Delmas is still stuck on four wins. He has 13 losses, a 4.91 goals against average and a .839 save percentage. Phillip Wright has an 3-1 record, he also has a 3.19 goals against average and a .876 save percentage. Jonathan Connelly has a 2-3 record with a 4.62 goals against average and a .810 save percentage.
