Another Tough Test

The Lewiston Maineiacs will be home Friday (7pm) for one game against the Drummondville Voltigeurs. They head to Drummondville on Sunday (4pm) to finish off the Home and Home series. Lewiston just came back from a three game road trip where they lost to Cape Breton twice and finished the trip on a high note with the victory over the Halifax Mooseheads. The biggest news of the week was veteran defenseman Tom Michalik getting released.

On Sunday, Alex Beaton had two goals to lead the Maineiacs to the 7-3 victory over the Mooseheads. Both Danick Paquette and Marc Bourgeois each have four goals to lead the team. It’s easy to see how different this team is with Paquette on the ice. He makes things happen and allows Maxime Gratchev to make plays. Eric Gelinas has one goal and four assists in nine contests. Patrick Cusack has five assists. Garrett Clarke has been solid so far. The goalie situation has been interesting. Phillip Wright has been stellar with a 2-0 record. He has a 2.00 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. Jonathan Connelly hasn’t seen any action since Delmas’ return.
