With Lynx season over; several players move on

The Augusta Lynx has their season come to an end last night, 3-1, at the hands of the South Carolina Stingrays. The Ray completed the comeback after going down 0-2 in the best-of-five series.

Despite the loss, several Lynx players have received a promotion to either Portland or Anaheim.

Being assigned to Portland is Adrian Veideman, Matt Christie and Ryan Dingle, while JP Levasseur was assigned to Anaheim.

Matt Christie spent 18 games with the Pirates this season where he scored four goals, five assists for nine points, while adding 41 points (11g, 30a) in 53 games with the Lynx.

Defenseman Adrian Veideman played six games with the Pirates this season, scoring one goal and one assists. The 25-year-old from Sicamous, British Columbia was named to the 2007-08 ECHL All-Rookie Team and to the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game. He led all Lynx defenseman in scoring during the regular season with 40 points in 66 games played, and also during the playoffs recording three points.

Dingle, signed to an NHL entry-level contract at the end of last season, played most of this season in Augusta, Ga. In 50 games with the Lynx, he scored 10 goals, 17 assists for 27 points. Dingle started the season with the Pirates, playing 19 games, scoring six points (1g, 5a).
