Platt gets the call to Anaheim

It only took nine games for Geoff Platt to make an impression on the Ducks coaching staff, recalled from the Pirates today. Since his arrival in Portland, he has scored a point in every game he’s played and currently has the longest point-scoring streak in the AHL (nine games).

In 24 games, he has scored 11 goals, 12 assists for 23 points.

When Platt arrived in Portland, he provided a linemate for Bobby Ryan, who was struggling to find his way in the early part of the season. Platt also gave the Pirates their missing link as they lacked any type of scoring depth.

The Pirates are off til Friday, when travel to Albany, New York to take on the River Rats. Former Pirate Trevor Gillies currently with the River Rats is out with a broken hand.
