Pirates face roster shake up

Portland, ME – With the apparent injuries to Ryan Getzlaf and Rob Niedermayer, the Anaheim Ducks have recalled Petteri Wirtanen and Jason King from the Portland Pirates.
Wirtanen just assigned to Portland on Sunday, scored his first NHL goal against the Nashville Predators in a 3-1 win on Oct. 17.
In Wirtanen return to Portland, he scored the game-tying goal in a 2-1 SO win over the Springfield Falcons.
On Saturday night, King scored the Pirates 3,500 goal of the franchise history. In six games, he’s scored five goals, two assists for seven points.
As a result of the recall, the Pirates have recalled forward Matt Christie from the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL.
Christie was assigned to the Lynx on Oct 22, appearing in three games, scoring one goal, three assists for four points.
The Portland Pirates also assigned J.P. Levasseur to the Lynx after Jonas Hiller arrived in Portland.
