Ryan Carter assigned to Portland

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned center Ryan Carter to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Carter, 24 (8/3/83), was scoreless in four regular season games with the Ducks. He made his season debut with Anaheim on Sept. 30 against the Los Angeles Kings at the O2 Arena in London, England. Carter also appeared in four preseason games with the Ducks last month, going scoreless.

Signed as a free agent on July 12, 2006, Carter made his professional debut with Portland during the 2006-07 regular season. In 76 games with the Pirates, Carter earned 16-20=36 points with 85 penalty minutes (PIM). He finished tied for third on the team in goals and tied for fourth in both assists and scoring. Carter joined the Ducks for the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs, appearing in four games, including Game Four of the Stanley Cup Finals against Ottawa.
