Pirates Roster Continues to Change

The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned goaltender Michael Wall to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Wall, 21 (7/25/85), has appeared in four games for the Ducks this season, earning a record of 2-2-0 with a 2.97 goals against average (GAA) and .877 save percentage (SV%). The Telkwa, British Columbia, native is currently tied for second among NHL rookie goaltenders with two wins. He stopped 19 of 22 shots on Nov. 26 versus Calgary en route to his first NHL win in his first NHL game.
Wall has appeared in eight games with Portland this season, posting a record of 6-1-1 with a 2.92 goals against average (GAA) and a .886 save percentage (SV%). The 6-2, 209-pound netminder played in four seasons of junior hockey with Prince George and Everett of the Western Hockey League.
He signed as a free agent with Anaheim on Sept. 29, 2005.
In other news, the Portland Pirates have acquired defenseman Greg Amadio from the Iowa Stars in exchange for Pirates’ forward J.B. Bittner.
Bittner,24, scoreless in two games played this season with Portland, played 30 game with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL scoring 11 goals, 19 assists for 30 points.
Amadio, 25, has played 14 games with the Iowa Stars, going scoreless. In 114 AHL games, Amadio has scored 5 assists and 256 penalty minutes.
The 6-2, 225-pound defenseman from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is expected to arrive in time for Friday’s game.
